In my previous posts, I have been talking about the need to add good habits in our daily life if we want to be happy. But, adding good habits in our life, is not really enough, another thing we need to consider is to let Go of the things that drag us down and this is what I am going to talk about in this post.
We need to keep in our mind that there are two main steps to take to create our Happiness: Empty ourselves from all negativities and Fill ourselves with positivity.
In order to be really happy and at peace with ourselves, we have to throw off a lot of baggage, even things that we may not know are there.
Letting go these things that drag us down allow ourselves to live a positive and happy life.

Main things we need to Let go if we want to Be Happy
The Belief that Someone or Something can make us Happy.
This is the first thing we need to let go, the belief that happiness comes from our external world. The belief that things, people, situations, can make us happy.
If we want to find true happiness, the happiness that lasts, we need to accept and understand that happiness comes from within and we have to be in charge of our happiness.
Obviously, people can help us to feel happier but we can’t put our happiness in other people’s hands. We can enjoy their presence in our life, but we can’t afford to depend on them, simple because if they decide to walk out from our life, our happiness world will collapse.
What Others Think
Here is another important one, let go of what other people think.
We are all unique and different from each other and so should be our life. We should focus on what we think about our life and not be distracted from what other people think of us. It is our life, as long as we don’t hurt anyone, we should be entitled to do what we want. If we give importance to what other people think, it can have a negative effect on our life, it is like their opinion on our life is more important than ours.

Comparison
If we want to be truly happy we need to let go of comparing ourselves to others.

Complaining
If we spend most of our time complaining we can’t certainly live a Happy Life. Life is a collection of moments, the more happy moments we live the happier is our life.
If we are used to complaining a lot, we need to consider to let go of this habit.

Feel Sorry for Yourself
Feeling sorry for ourselves is absolutely detrimental to our health. This is a negative element that we need to let go since has physical and mental issues.

Let Go of the Past
If we constantly live focusing on our past, we can’t enjoy our present and we need to remember that Happiness is in the present moment.

Anger
There’s no two ways about it, anger is going to cause a lot of problems in our life. Angry people and those that hold on to grudges allow others to rent space inside their heads. They dwell on it, they complain, and they risk losing a great deal of years because of the anxiety and stress that comes with this.

The Need to Control Everything
It is impossible to be in control of everything so if our aim is to be in control we will often end up be disappointed.
The only thing that we can truly control is our own attitude and reactions and if we can achieve that, we will be in charge of our life.

Letting go of negative views of our own body is one of the most freeing things that we can do.
We need to Embrace our Beautiful Uniqueness.

The Perfect Life Awaits
There is no perfection, no utopia, and yet people tend to chase it. They look for that perfect partner, that perfect job, the perfect life. But we need to remember that there will always be something better and no one can be perfect all the time.
What we need to do is appreciate what we have, be grateful, gratitude is the key to happiness and work for what we want, but we also need to let go of waiting for the perfect life.
Negative Vocabulary
When we believe in can’t, never, and won’t, we will end up with a pile of excuses that are going to get us down. They will become stumbling blocks for us, and we will not embrace the greatness that is coming right around the corner. When greatness calls, we’ll be too busy with the negativity to even realize what’s happening.

Your Ex
If you have an ex, leave them be. Live your best life, and don’t dream of going back to the past. Old feelings are just that, old. Find a new partner and avoid to dwell on what once was, because it’s gone. If you get hung up on the past, you will never see the future, and that’s something that has been tagged to various adages in the world.
Procrastination
Another thing we need to let go if we want to be happy is procrastination.
We need to stop waiting until the last minute and fight our way to something grand.
Focus on doing things right the first time, and don’t just rest on our laurels. Every task ahead of us is a chance for us to succeed, so let your success become overflowing by fighting for greatness. Do not procrastinate, that’s a true killer of happiness.

I am sure there will be other things we need to let go to be happy.
What we simply need to do is, stop and think about things in our life that are dragging us down, make a list of them and start working with one at that time.
Basically to be happy we need to embrace positivity and let go of the negativity.
But remember, that doesn’t mean to be positive 24/7 it means not to dwell on the negative.
